Event & Marketing Specialist

Are you a marketing professional with a passion for events, video content and social media? Digital Media Solutions has an urgent and immediate need for a motivated individual to join their world-class marketing team as an Event & Marketing Specialist. This role will be primarily responsible for support across various marketing tasks, especially including assisting with planning and executing conferences and shooting and editing video content. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Content & Events, but will actively work with all marketing team members.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Assist with event planning, including conferences/trade shows and virtual events (50%). This includes:
  • The ability to travel to conferences and provide onsite support, including setup and breakdown of meeting spaces, assisting attendees with onsite needs, troubleshooting as necessary, leveraging conference activity for video creation and social media needs, among other tasks
  • Confidently communicating with hotel and event managers across the country, via phone, email and in person
  • Some fluency with setting up spreadsheets for tracking event materials, expenses and attendees
  • Enthusiasm about events both in the planning phase and on-site at conferences – and willingness to jump in where needed
  • Shooting and editing video onsite for use in marketing materials and across DMS social platforms
• Assist with researching, drafting and editing social posts for DMS owned-and-operated properties and DMS brand social across social media platforms (10%)
• Assist with creating internal-focused content to engage a fully-remote workforce (10%)
• Regular team reporting (10%)
• Research related to industry data and competitive messaging (10%)
• Provide miscellaneous support to the DMS corporate marketing team to facilitate the creation and distribution of sales materials (10%)

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience in marketing and event planning
• Proficiency in video shooting and editing
• Must be willing to travel to conferences/trade shows approximately 5-10 times per year for onsite execution of conferences
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at events
• Ability to work East Coast hours strongly preferred
• Must be detail-oriented and organized
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
• Must be a strong proofreader
• Ability to work autonomously
• Must be motivated and enthusiastic
• Creative thinker
• Organized with an eye for detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
• Strong research skills
• Familiarity with all major social media platforms strongly preferred
• Familiarity with social/email software platforms a plus (Hubspot, Hootsuite, Canva, etc.)

Note: This role is 100% remote, but applicant must be willing and able to travel to conferences to assist with event execution and shooting video content.
